Greetings to all friends of art! We are embarking upon some very exciting initiatives as we move into 2019. As we complete our IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) grant awarded for collections management, we are thrilled to share with those who have always treasured the permanent collection here at the University the fact that we have developed a state of the art formal registration system for all works of art. Each work has been photographed, documented and entered into our digital database.
Additionally, we were proud to have presented exhibitions such as the Get on Board: Stories of the Los Angeles to Houston Freedom Ride the first of the year, the 1000 Words | 1000 Kalema Exhibition in March, seven senior art majors in our annual Graduating Seniors 2012 Exhibition during the months of April and May, and For the Sake of Art 2012: A Wearable Art Competition and fundraiser in June. We are proud of this year and look forward to a wealth of events, programs and exhibitions in support of the arts.
